Every project starts with understanding what is already there, whether that is an existing home with good bones or a piece of land waiting for something new.

I look for the opportunities that will make the greatest difference to everyday life: capturing better light, creating stronger connections between spaces and landscape, making thoughtful use of what already exists and designing spaces around the people who will inhabit them.

  • 01 BRIEF + LAYOUT DESIGN

    We begin by understanding you, your site or existing home, how you live and what you hope to achieve.

    I develop and test different layout options to explore the potential of the project and establish a clear overall direction before moving into three dimensions.

    02 CONCEPT DESIGN

    The chosen layout is developed into a 3D model so we can explore the spaces as a whole.

    We refine form, light, materials, joinery and key details together, allowing you to understand how the home will look, feel and function before progressing further.

    03 APPROVALS + PERMITS

    Where approvals are required, I prepare and coordinate the architectural information needed for the relevant planning and building approval process, working with external consultants as required.

    04 CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTATION

    Once the design is resolved, I develop the detailed drawings, schedules and information required for pricing and construction.

    This can include detailed plans, elevations, sections, joinery, materials, fixtures and other project specific details.

    05 WORKS ON SITE

    During construction, I can remain involved to answer questions, review design details and work with the builder and consultants to help carry the design intent through to the finished home.

    FLEXIBLE DESIGN SERVICES

    The first stages of the design process can also be engaged as a standalone service.

    This is suited to clients who want to establish a strong layout and design direction before deciding how they would like to proceed with approvals, documentation and construction.
